Liebherr has introduced its new R 9300 excavator , the second Generation 8 machine in its mining portfolio. This equipment is designed to optimize operational performance and reduce environmental impact thanks to its innovative Liebherr Power Efficiency system, which improves fuel consumption and productivity.

The R 9300 achieves 25% greater fuel efficiency, with a 15% reduction in consumption compared to previous models . It also enables 5% greater productivity, which significantly reduces the cost per tonne by 20%. Its design also complies with international regulations such as Tier 4 and Stage V, and a version with an electric powertrain is in development.

Liebherr has integrated multiple assistance systems into the R 9300, such as Truck Loading Assist, which optimises loading strategy, and Performance Monitoring Assist, which analyses data in real time to improve operation. There is also Application Severity Assist, which measures the impact of the terrain on the machine and allows its operation to be adjusted to maximise its service life.
With a lighter and stronger bucket, the R 9300 has been designed to increase loading capacity without affecting cycle times or fuel consumption. Its EVO bucket design improves efficiency with up to 15% higher productivity and 10% less weight .
The excavator features a state-of-the-art cab, incorporating large touchscreen displays and improved ergonomic design. It also features a 45° hydraulic ladder for improved safe access and a centralised service area for streamlined maintenance.
With its combination of advanced technology, energy efficiency and safety, the R 9300 sets a new standard in the mining industry . This model replaces the R 9250 in the 250-tonne class and demonstrates Liebherr’s commitment to innovation and sustainability in mining.
