Under this contract, Halliburton will supply its iCruise intelligent rotary steerable system ( RSS ), designed to reduce well construction time and accurately locate wells. In addition, the LOGIXTM automation and remote operations platform will be used to improve well construction consistency and performance.
In addition, the company will deploy its ultra-deep resistivity service, EarthStar , to position oil production wells and map reservoirs. To address the technical limits of drilling fluids in the areas, the company will use its real-time BaraLogix service, which reduces lost time through advanced hydraulic software, surface measurement automation and predictive analytics.
The company will employ other proprietary technologies, such as Cerebro on-bit sensing, and introduce innovative solutions such as formation testing services to detect reservoir structural complexities and enable informed decisions in drilling, completion and production.
Halliburton Vice President in Brazil, Waldomiro Mendes, mentioned that this contract represents the company’s most important service agreement with Petrobras. This alliance expands Halliburton’s drilling services coverage in the pre-salt and post-salt areas , both for development and exploration wells.
This contract underscores Halliburton’s strength in deep and ultra-deep well drilling and construction . The agreement also reflects confidence in the company’s technological capabilities and commitment to operational excellence.
Efficient execution is important for the success of this project, which is expected to start in the second quarter of 2025 and contribute to the growth of oil production in Brazil. The collaboration between Halliburton and Petrobras reinforces their leadership in the energy industry and their ability to address technical challenges in offshore drilling.
