Amazon has taken a major step towards decarbonising its logistics network in Europe by placing its largest ever order for electric trucks . The company has ordered more than 200 units of the eActros 600 , the flagship model of Mercedes-Benz Trucks, a truly significant development for both companies.

The eActros 600 will be used on medium-distance routes, mainly in the UK and Germany, where freight containers will be transported between logistics centres and delivery stations. Equipped with advanced batteries of over 600 kWh, these units offer a range of 500 km in real-world conditions , enabling efficient and environmentally friendly transport.
Amazon Vice President of Sustainability Andreas Marschner stressed that this order reinforces the company’s commitment to achieving net-zero carbon emissions by 2040 , as part of its global Climate Pledge initiative. This goal is aligned with Mercedes-Benz Trucks’ strategy, which seeks to lead the transition to emission-free transport.

The eActros 600 stands out for its range and its ability to cover up to 1,000 km per day with fast intermediate charges . In addition, its aerodynamic and minimalist design sets a new standard of efficiency and profitability for fleet operators, positioning it as a viable alternative to traditional diesel trucks .
This model has been recognised as “International Truck of the Year 2025” after completing rigorous testing in real-world conditions, including 15,000km routes in Europe with a total load of 40 tonnes. Mercedes-Benz Trucks also offers comprehensive services under its new TruckCharge brand, including advice and charging infrastructure solutions.
