Talos Energy has confirmed oil and natural gas discoveries at its Katmai West #2 well , located in the Ewing Bank area of the Gulf of Mexico. This development highlights the company’s ability to execute complex projects with high standards of safety and environmental efficiency.

The well was drilled 35% ahead of budget and more than a month ahead of schedule. According to Talos, 400 feet of hydrocarbons with exceptional geological properties were encountered , in line with pre-established expectations. This result reflects the potential of the Katmai area, with daily production projections of 15 to 20 thousand barrels of oil equivalent.
The company plans to tie this well into the Tarantula facility, which has been increased to 35,000 barrels per day. This design will allow for stable and efficient long-term production. The company, in collaboration with Ridgewood Energy Corporation , operates a 50% interest in the Katmai West field.
