Sustainable fuels specialist Clean Energy Fuels Corp has unveiled a set of strategic agreements that underscore the growing adoption of renewable natural gas ( RNG ). These contracts span from fuel supply to infrastructure construction and maintenance operations.

New alliances and new customers of renewable natural gas

Among the most notable new deals is DHL , which will use 100,000 gallons of RNG annually to fuel its fleets in California, Texas and Arizona. The move marks DHL’s foray into testing cleaner alternative fuels than diesel.

For its part, Food Express , a repeat RNG customer, has formalized the construction of a new fueling station in California, which will supply a fleet of heavy trucks and be available to other companies. In addition, this station is estimated to supply more than 3 million gallons in the next decade.

Clean Energy has also strengthened its relationship with LA Metro , supplying 14 million gallons of RNG for five of its stations. This commitment strengthens the focus on clean and efficient public transportation. At the same time, SalSon Logistics will use 500,000 gallons in Illinois to ensure sustainable operations in its collaboration with IKEA.

Expansion in public transport and logistics

The company has also signed contracts to upgrade existing stations, such as the Dallas Area Rapid Transit ( DART ) station, as well as operating agreements with clients such as El Metro in Texas and the University of California at San Diego.

Clean Energy Senior Vice President Chad Lindholm said, “These agreements reflect our confidence in RNG as a practical and sustainable solution, reaffirming our commitment to decarbonizing transportation.” With contracts spanning sectors such as public transportation, logistics and waste management, Clean Energy is strengthening its position as a leader in the transition to cleaner, more sustainable fuels.
