Energy technology specialist SLB has been selected by Petrobras for an integrated services contract in all of the Brazilian company’s offshore oil fields. This award covers the construction of more than 100 wells in deep waters, using advanced drilling, cementing and drilling fluid technologies.
An integrated services contract in Brazil
The main operations will be carried out in the Campos , Santos and Espiritu Santo basins , with the possibility of expanding to the Equatorial Margin, depending on the oil exploration licenses. The company has worked closely with Petrobras for decades.
This new project is an extension of the existing collaboration, highlighting the implementation of technologies that seek to optimize operational efficiency and reduce environmental impact. Among the solutions presented are the Ora platform for real-time formation testing and the SpectraSphere system for fluid mapping while drilling.
With an investment of approximately US$800 million, this contract will allow Petrobras to revitalize productive fields and explore new areas, applying systems that increase operational safety and efficiency. In addition, the integration of advanced solutions and the detailed focus on research and preservation of local material ensure that oil operations in Brazil remain aligned with international standards and the needs of the local market.
This contract builds on our existing work with the Brazilian company in its offshore basins and introduces new technologies that improve operational and environmental efficiency. It is also aligned with our strong track record of local content in Brazil and our well-distributed operational presence across the country.
