Urano Energy Corp. has just completed a major strategic acquisition, with the purchase of 15 uranium properties located in Utah and Colorado , two of the most important states in uranium mining in the United States.
This transaction, which was previously announced on November 27, 2024, adds 8,200 acres (33 km²) to the Company’s already robust portfolio, expanding its presence in the rich deposits of the Uravan Mineral Belt .
New uranium properties for the company
With this acquisition, Urano Energy adds a total of 21,840 acres (88 km²) in historically productive areas , becoming a key player in uranium exploration and extraction in one of the most prolific regions in the world. The Uravan Mineral Belt is known for hosting high-grade uranium deposits and has been a source of consistent production since the mid-20th century.
Jason Bagg, CEO of Urano Energy, highlighted that these new properties offer a strategic opportunity for the company’s growth, not only due to their location, but also due to the existing infrastructure and active mining permits that facilitate the prompt resumption of mining activities.
Great exploration potential
The acquired properties include several historic mining production sites, such as Green River in Utah, which is permitted for underground mining. In total, the 15 properties encompass areas with known mineralization in three key districts: the Uravan Mineral Belt , La Sal District and Lisbon Valley District.
The potential of these projects is significant, as uranium mining in Utah and Colorado has been critical to supplying energy industries in the country. Over the decades, these districts have produced more than 80 million pounds of uranium , consolidating their relevance in the global production of this mineral.
Urano Energy is well positioned to take advantage of the boom in global uranium demand. With a track record of production and projects under development, the company plans to begin exploring for new deposits through confirmation drilling and the collection of detailed historical data from former operators.
