The TechnipFMC team has reached a new milestone at ExxonMobil’s Stabroek Block project, located off Guyana. This progress is confirmed by the installation of the first state-of-the-art subsea production equipment, known as Subsea 2.0, which will mark the beginning of a new phase in the development of the Uaru field.

The first step in this process was the installation of a pipehead using a Schilling UHD-II ROV , a remotely operated vehicle that was key to ensuring the precise positioning of the subsea equipment on the seabed. This breakthrough is a significant achievement, as the system enables streamlined manufacturing and custom configuration of subsea production systems, significantly accelerating the progress of complex projects such as Uaru.

In the coming months, TechnipFMC will continue to install more components, including the first Subsea 2.0 subsea tree, which will be essential for oil exploitation in this block.

A technology designed for efficiency

The Subsea 2.0 system promises to be more efficient and also faster. This modular and flexible approach to building subsea production systems aims to reduce lead times and operating costs, while maintaining high standards of quality and safety. In addition, its design allows components to be manufactured and configured to fit the specific needs of each project.
