China has revealed images and videos of its latest advancement in military drone technology, which many experts identify as the CH-7 Long-Endurance Drone . This unmanned aerial vehicle ( UCAV ) shows an expanded design and notable improvements over previous versions.

The new technology of the CH-7 drone

Videos posted on Chinese state media have captured the drone on an undisclosed landing strip, equipped with a low-signature engine for stealth operations. Although it has not yet been seen flying, the CH-7 appears to be close to completing its testing. One of its strong points is the turbofan engine with dorsal air intake and its internal cargo bay, with high-tech sensors.

Developed by China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation (CASC), the drone is believed to be used for long-duration ISR missions, with capabilities to enter enemy airspace and gather vital intelligence. It is also possible that it could take on offensive roles.

Since its first appearance in 2018, the CH-7 has evolved, incorporating technology that rivals Western developments such as the X-47B and RQ-180. The possible commercialization of this aircraft positions China as a global competitor in the market for advanced military drones.
