The German company Liebherr has presented the MK 120-5.1, a five-axle crane model, which stands out for its impressive maneuverability and advanced technology, an ideal solution for civil works in urban areas and limited spaces.
The capabilities of the MK 120-5.1 crane
With a maximum hook height of 127 feet and a working radius of 52 meters, the MK 120-5.1 delivers exceptional performance. With a lifting capacity of up to 2,100 kg at the tip of the boom, this model integrates power with a compact design that makes it easy to navigate narrow streets and congested work areas. “The MK 120-5.1 is just what we needed for our fleet ,” said Stephan Zaugg, Managing Director of Zaugg AG Rohrbach in Switzerland, the first customer of the new crane.
A differentiating aspect of the MK 120-5.1 is the new 12-inch touchscreen, part of the TC-OS ( Tower Crane Operating System ). This interface focuses on customization and ease of use, allowing operators to tailor functions to the needs of the project. The screen can be used in split or full mode, providing a clear and crisp view of operations.
The optional, smaller load hook is a highly versatile accessory. Designed to move loads between buildings and scaffolding, this hook can be changed in minutes and maintains the same lifting capacity as its larger counterpart. Liebherr has announced that this option will be available for its entire range of mobile cranes in the future.
The MK 120-5.1 crane is now available to order, with first deliveries scheduled for summer 2025. With this addition, Liebherr continues to strengthen its position as a leader in the construction machinery sector, offering solutions that combine power, advanced technology and operational efficiency.
