A solar panel factory in Saudi Arabia
With an estimated production capacity of 5 GW, this facility aims to meet the growing demand for solar energy in the local market and position the Kingdom as an exporter of renewable technology in the global market.
The plant will occupy a space of 170,000 square meters and will be developed in collaboration with the Saudi Authority for Industrial Cities and Technology Zones ( Modon ), which has provided the land for the project. The factory will have a production line for 2 GW of solar panels and another for 3 GW of photovoltaic cells, thus covering the entire production process to meet the demand for solar solutions from Desert Technologies and third parties.
This initiative is part of Saudi Arabia’s national strategy to boost green energy production and reduce its dependence on oil. In addition, the industrial complex will focus on other complementary projects, such as the production of wind turbines and battery energy storage systems , which will contribute to the country’s energy diversification and sustainability goals.
Through this investment, Desert Technologies seeks to contribute to Saudi Arabia’s goal of achieving 50% of electricity generation from renewable energy by 2030, reinforcing the Kingdom’s commitment to sustainable practices and technological innovation.
