China’s Manned Space Agency launched the Shenzhou-19 spacecraft at 4:27 a.m. (Beijing Capital Time) from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center in northwest China. The mission is carrying three taikonauts: Cai Xuzhe, who leads the mission as commander, Song Lingdong and Wang Haoze, who will spend several months on the Tiangong Space Station to conduct scientific research and develop advanced technologies in microgravity conditions.
Shenzhou-19 mission arrives at Tiangong Space Station
This mission aims to conduct experiments in areas such as basic physics, space life sciences, and aerospace medicine, contributing to the advancement of human exploration in space and the safety of future long-duration flights. Its primary activities include the installation of debris protection devices and the recovery of scientific equipment.
The Shenzhou-19 crew will be welcomed to the Tiangong Space Station by the Shenzhou-18 taikonauts , who have been on the station since April, ensuring China’s continued presence in space. This rotation marks the fourth manned mission of China’s current stage of space station development, and is an important step in its manned space program.
The Shenzhou-19 spacecraft was launched by the Long March 2F Yao-19 rocket , completing its 543rd flight. This mission is a historic event in China’s plan to maintain and expand its Tiangong Station, and showcases the China Manned Space Agency’s dedication to pushing forward the exploration and advancement of space science.
