MAN delivers its first eTGX heavy-duty electric truck

The eTGX can transport 15.5 tonnes of batteries emission-free over just 5 kilometres between the DRÄXLMAIER facility and the Porsche factory.

MAN Truck & Bus has delivered the eTGX truck in Leipzig , Germany – its first fully electric truck . The eTGX, weighing 40 tonnes, was handed over to automotive supplier DRÄXLMAIER Group, which will use it to transport emission-free batteries for the Porsche Macan Electric. The handover was carried out by Friedrich Baumann, Director of Sales at MAN.

MAN eTGX truck powers electric transport

The MAN eTGX, with 450 horsepower and a battery capacity of 534 kWh , is part of the company’s commitment to more sustainable logistics. ” It is a milestone in the history of our company ,” said Alexander Vlaskamp, CEO of MAN, noting that 100 years ago the company presented its first diesel truck, and now it is entering its electric era.

The vehicle is charged with renewable energy at DRÄXLMAIER ‘s facilities, underlining its commitment to reducing emissions in the supply chain. ” We are pleased to be part of this initiative that reinforces our commitment to sustainability ,” said Albrecht Reimold, Member of the Board of Management of Porsche.

With more than 2,500 orders and requests for this model, MAN expects that every second truck it delivers will be electric by 2030. The electrification of heavy-duty transport is thus becoming a reality, proving that even large components such as battery modules can be transported efficiently and emission-free.
