On October 9, the panel discussion “ New Tech, New Solutions: Innovating the NDT Energy Sector ” was broadcast live via LinkedIn and YouTube, bringing together prominent industry leaders to address technological advances in the Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) sector and its impact on the energy sector .
The event featured Philippe Cyr , Solutions Development Expert at Eddyfi Technologies ; Rhett O’Briant , Vice President of Technical Sales and Support at Guided Ultrasonics Ltd .; Jeffrey Monks, President of Equipcon Group ; Emilie Peloquin , Executive Director of Global NDT Application Engineering at EVIDENT ; and Brian S. White , NAS 410 Level 3 Radiologist and CARESTREAM NDT Lab Director.
Advances in Non-Destructive Testing: the focus of the Panel Discussion
In front of an audience of 476 attendees, panelists delved into how technology is revolutionizing non-destructive testing in the energy industry, highlighting innovative solutions that are transforming the inspection of critical assets.
Among the highlights, Philippe Cyr discussed innovations in Eddyfi technology, such as advanced portable tools for inspecting complex geometries, improving accuracy and flaw detection. Rhett O’Briant presented an analysis on autonomous monitoring systems that enable corrosion detection in critical energy infrastructures without service interruption.
Jeffrey Monks highlighted the importance of technological transfer of solutions from laboratories to the production line, while Emilie Peloquin underlined the need to adopt open file formats in the NDT industry to facilitate interoperability and digitalisation of processes.
Finally, Brian White presented the advantages of flexible digital array detectors in radiographic inspections, optimizing efficiency in different industrial environments.
This panel not only left a mark on the exploration of advanced technological solutions, but also demonstrated the NDT sector’s commitment to safety, efficiency and sustainability in the energy industry. Attendees actively interacted with the speakers, generating an enriching dialogue on the future of non-destructive testing.
This event takes place ahead of the speakers’ participation in the annual ASNT conference , taking place in Las Vegas from October 21-24. The panel was a clear demonstration of how new technologies are paving the way to a safer and more efficient energy sector, driven by innovation in NDT.
