Corvus Robotics launches autonomous drones for warehouses without lights

Corvus Robotics has launched an updated version of its Corvus One system, an autonomous warehouse drone , designed to operate without the need for additional infrastructure in unlit warehouses. This autonomous drone- powered system uses artificial intelligence and machine vision to efficiently manage inventory, without relying on light or human operators, offering a cost-effective and easy-to-deploy solution.

Corvus Robotics raises $18 million to improve inventories

With this launch, backed by $18 million in funding led by S2G Ventures and Spero Ventures, Corvus aims to transform logistics and inventory management . According to Marc Tarpenning, co-founder of Tesla and partner at Spero Ventures, the system is quick to implement and significantly reduces operational costs , easily integrating into warehouse workflows.

The Corvus One drone is capable of navigating aisles as small as 50 inches wide thanks to its obstacle detection system and ability to elevate and avoid collisions. Additionally, this system offers 99.9% inventory accuracy and can scan barcodes in any orientation, eliminating common errors and optimizing the use of warehouse space. These drones can also operate continuously 24 hours a day, increasing labor productivity by up to 10 times.

Autonomous warehouse drone cuts costs

Corvus Robotics promises improved inventory accuracy and helps companies optimize space and reduce waste. With its “robots as a service” model, Corvus has already helped companies like Staci Americas and MSI Surfaces save hundreds of thousands of dollars annually in labor costs while improving customer experience and increasing production efficiency.

The Corvus One system also integrates seamlessly with existing warehouse management systems, allowing for rapid deployment in less than a week , with no need to install Wi-Fi or additional infrastructure.

With the recent round of funding, Corvus Robotics plans to expand its reach and continue developing innovative solutions for the industry. Jackie Wu, co-founder and CEO of Corvus, noted that the company is experiencing rapid growth and that its technology represents a major advancement in inventory management, allowing businesses to improve their operational performance with minimal investment in infrastructure.
