Wan Hai Lines and the use of B24 biofuels

The WAN HAI 510 vessel , which uses the CI6 route between the Far East and India, was the first to use B24 biofuel , a blend of biodiesel made from recycled edible oil and low-sulphur fuel oil. This initiative comes from the collaboration with KPI OceanConnect and is ISCC certified, ensuring that the fuel meets international sustainability standards.

Biofuel will enable Wan Hai to reduce carbon emissions from its operations by up to 20% . This sustainable fuel contributes to reducing the environmental footprint, and also ensures more efficient and cleaner transportation for the future.

The company stressed its firm commitment to sustainable development and said that this is just the beginning of a long road towards the full adoption of clean technologies. The use of biofuels is part of a broader strategy that seeks to improve energy efficiency and reduce emissions from the entire global fleet.

Wan Hai has reaffirmed that it will continue to explore and implement new sustainable solutions to achieve its environmental goals. With measures such as this, the company aims to leave a positive mark on both the environment and future generations in its quest for truly sustainable development.
