At the InnoTrans 2024 trade fair in Berlin, CRRC Corporation Limited surprised the rail transport world with the presentation of two hydrogen trains : the CINOVA H2 , a hydrogen -powered intercity train, and the ART 2.0 , an autonomous transport system that combines versatility and sustainability.

CINOVA H2: a train that can carry 1000 passengers

Noted for its ability to operate with zero carbon emissions, the CINOVA H2 uses hydrogen fuel cell technology that only produces water as a byproduct. According to Liang Caiguo, a technical expert at CRRC, this train has the capacity to travel 1,200 kilometers at a continuous speed of 160 km/h , making it a leader in autonomy in the market. In addition, its capacity to carry more than 1,000 passengers makes it an ideal solution for sustainable intercity transportation.

This train not only guarantees zero emissions , but also optimizes resources, as the water generated by the hydrogen conversion process is reused for passenger needs. Likewise, the residual heat is used for the heating system during the winter. All of this is integrated into CRRC’s SmartCare system, an intelligent maintenance platform that reduces costs and improves operational safety.

ART 2.0: with rubber wheels and virtual routes

On the other hand, the ART 2.0, with a design inspired by the green peacock, symbolizes the harmony between technology and oriental aesthetics. This autonomous system moves without the need for traditional tracks thanks to its rubber wheels and virtual routes. Its flexibility allows it to operate with various energy sources, including fast-charging batteries and hydrogen fuel cells.

This train also stands out for its state-of-the-art safety system and its ability to travel up to 500 kilometres on hydrogen .

With the implementation of several ART lines in China and other countries, CRRC continues to consolidate its position as a leader in railway innovation while reaffirming its commitment to sustainability, seeking to offer cleaner, smarter and more accessible transport solutions for everyone.
