ENOC launches the first solar-powered biodiesel truck at WETEX 2024

The truck can operate for 8 continuous hours on a single charge of solar energy and reduces 6.6 tons of carbon emissions per year.

ENOC Group has revolutionised the energy industry by introducing the first solar- powered biodiesel truck at the Water, Energy, Technology and Environment Expo 2024 in Dubai. This innovative vehicle is part of the group’s strategy to align with the UAE’s sustainability goals and Dubai’s Clean Energy Strategy 2050.

Biodiesel truck with 8 hours of autonomy

The truck, which has a 5,000-litre tank and is equipped with two 500 to 550 W solar panels, can operate for eight hours on a single charge. The expected reduction in carbon emissions is 6.6 tonnes per year, reinforcing ENOC Group ‘s commitment to the transition towards cleaner energy sources .

His Excellency Saif Humaid Al Falasi, CEO of the group, said that this innovation responds to the National Biofuel Policy and seeks to reduce emissions while improving operational efficiency. Since 2020, more than 10 million liters of biodiesel in different grades have been sold , reaffirming its commitment to alternative fuels .

The trucks also feature backup batteries and a dedicated air conditioning system , making their operation completely independent of external energy sources. These advances underline their position as a leader in promoting sustainable energy solutions .
