Energy company BlueNord is raising its expectations for its main hydrocarbon extraction targets in the North Sea, following the announcement of an upgrade scheduled for the last quarter of 2024 and gas production at its Tyra project.

Optimization in Tyra production

Following the “ onshore repair of the second transformer ”, this component is expected to be installed and operational offshore during the fourth quarter of 2024, allowing for continued gradual ramp-up of production and extraction.

According to the company’s statement, which comes from its operating partner TotalEnergies, the Tyra project is on track to reach its maximum technical capacity by the end of the fourth quarter of 2024.

These advances would allow for net production of between 4.0 and 6.0 mboepd on average for that quarter, with a projected output rate of approximately 30.0 mboepd net by December 2024.

Tyra production , which has faced delays in recent months due to technical issues, is now at a critical phase. The IP compressor transformer, which suffered an incident in April 2024, has been fully repaired and is ready for installation at the Tyra facility. TotalEnergies has implemented additional measures to ensure that the long-term integrity of the facility is guaranteed before resuming full operational capacity.

Furthermore, production guidance for the third quarter of 2024 remains under review due to these technical adjustments, and BlueNord maintains optimistic expectations for the final quarter of the year. In addition, base assets in the Dan, Gorm and Halfdan areas continue to deliver stable production, supporting the company’s guidance for the end of 2024.
