The Viceroy Seagliders , with a capacity for 12 passengers, will become an efficient and environmentally friendly alternative for connecting coastal regions. These sea gliders can reach a speed of up to 290 km and cover up to almost 300 kilometers of distance on a single charge, promoting electric mobility in areas with high demand for regional transportation, such as Miami and San Juan.

According to Billy Thalheimer, CEO and co-founder of REGENT , this agreement with UrbanLink will allow millions of people in these areas to enjoy comfortable and sustainable transportation. The Seagliders are designed to operate using existing port infrastructures, facilitating the integration of these vehicles into a multimodal ecosystem that integrates maritime and air transport.

UrbanLink President Ed Wegel highlighted that this collaboration furthers their mission to offer zero-emission regional travel by integrating electric gliders with other advanced solutions such as eVTOL jets . UrbanLink’s vision is to expand connectivity in the region while promoting more sustainable and environmentally friendly transportation alternatives.

With the potential to carry up to 4.3 million passengers annually in South Florida, Seagliders are a game-changer for coastal transportation, a growing need in developing urban and tourist areas.
