Volt Lithium has taken a significant step in its trajectory by commencing operations in the Permian Basin, Texas, achieving its first lithium production. The company, which utilizes its innovative Direct Lithium Extraction (DLE) technology, has begun operations in a U.S. field, positioning itself as a pioneer in the extraction of lithium from oilfield brines.

Volt President and CEO Alex Wylie said this is a crucial strategic breakthrough, marking the beginning of the path to large-scale commercialization of lithium. Thanks to a low operating cost structure, Volt is positioned to scale its operations by the second half of 2025, with plans for commercialization of battery-grade lithium carbonate.
As of September 17, 2024, Volt has successfully produced lithium concentrate, reinforcing its commitment to advancing the energy transition global energy transition. The company is expected to start generating revenues by the end of 2024 and achieve positive cash flow in the first half of 2025.
Volt Lithium continues to expand its presence in the U.S., focusing on operational efficiencies and leveraging existing oilfield infrastructures to reduce costs and risks. This approach will enable them to achieve commercial production of up to 100,000 barrels of brine per day in the future.
