As part of the 20th SLOM 2024 Conference, Mauricio Spaolonzi, Regional Business Development Manager, shared his perspective on the importance of this event for the maritime industry and his company’s achievements.

Since its founding, Orwell has established itself as a provider of engineering and naval architecture services, offering innovative products such as monobuoy and multibuoy buoys. “This is the region’s premier event for marine terminals, and it is a pleasure to see colleagues and clients,” Spaolonzi said in an interview with the Inspenet team.

With more than 20 years of involvement with SLOM, Orwell has forged valuable relationships that have led to improved safety on marine projects. “We can share lessons learned and experiences, which helps us have safer operations,” he added.

Regarding its expansion, Spaolonzi highlighted the recent installation of its first buoy in Colombia, a project that marks a milestone in its trajectory. “We are proud to have completed this great project, which is now operational and opens the doors to more opportunities in the region,” he commented.

The director also underlined the relevance of the technical presentations that have taken place during the conference, where solutions to current problems in the industry are discussed. “The integration of people and clients allows us to better understand new projects and move forward together,” Spaolonzi concluded.

Orwell remains committed to leading innovation in maritime engineering, and its presence at SLOM 2024 reaffirms its crucial role in developing effective and safe solutions for the industry.
