ANCAP Shines at SLOM 2024

ANCAP, the iconic Uruguayan company with more than 90 years of history, has dazzled SLOM 2024 attendees with its outstanding participation in the event. The company, known for its leadership in the refining of crude oil and its derivatives, has enthusiastically shared its efforts in the energy transition and its innovative projects in the industry.

The event, celebrating its 20th edition, has been a significant milestone for Uruguay and ANCAP. The magnitude and impact of SLOM 2024 have exceeded the expectations of the hosts, who have received global delegations with great enthusiasm. According to the ANCAP representative, the amazing turnout and international representation has been a source of pride and satisfaction.

ANCAP, a national flagship since its inception, is undergoing a process of energy transition. While continuing with its traditional oil refining business, the company is moving towards alternative energy projects. Among the most prominent developments are initiatives in renewable energy, biofuels and the ambitious pursuit of the viability of green hydrogen.

Daniel Jorge Lamela, Member of the Board of Directors on behalf of ANCAP highlighted in an interview with Inspenet the importance of these projects, including the development of a biorefinery that will combine traditional refining with the conversion of organic matter into alternative fuels. In addition, the company is working on a pioneering green hydrogen project led by ALUR, a subsidiary of ANCAP in northern Uruguay. This project could become the largest foreign direct investment in the country’s history.

ANCAP has also emphasized its commitment to technical excellence, noting that its team of technicians is at the global forefront in terms of training and updating. The company is dedicated to navigating the energy transition in an economical, sustainable and prudent manner, with firm and well-founded steps.

The SLOM 2024 event has been a platform for ANCAP to showcase its leading role in the evolution of the energy industry, reaffirming its commitment to innovation and sustainability.
