A new solar station has been installed in Everest National Park, 4,300 meters above sea level, making it the highest in the world. This pioneering project is part of the “Sichuan-Tibet Supercharging Green Corridor” and is designed to support sustainable tourism in the area.
Solar station overcomes extreme mountain challenges
AIKO, the manufacturer of solar moduleshas integrated its innovative N-type bifacial panels together with Huawei Digital Power’s Huawei Digital Power’s liquid cooling technology.. These solutions make it possible to cope with the extreme conditions of altitude, solar radiation and severe weather, which often affect the durability of conventional installations.
The system, which generates 236,800 kWh of clean energy per year, provides power to one charging station station that serves the needs of more than one million tourists. The solar modules have been specially designed to withstand the low temperatures, high UV exposure and snow loads that are common in this region. In addition, the modular design and high energy efficiency ensure consistent performance despite adverse conditions.
This initiative promotes the use of electric vehicles in high mountain regions and supports AIKO’s global vision of driving a carbon-free society. Thus, the installation of the station on Everest symbolizes the ambition to explore new limits in renewable energy.
