Ingeteam, a leading company in electrical energy conversion solutions, has been selected to provide its technology for a major green hydrogen project in Germany. This project, which will take place at BP’s Lingen refinery, will mark a key step in the decarbonization of the oil industry.
The project will produce up to 11,000 tons of green hydrogen per year, using energy from an offshore wind power agreement. Ingeteam will provide 20 units of its full skid solution, equipped with 40 INGECON H2 E6000 rectifiers, which will feed the electrolyzers, essential components in the generation of renewable hydrogen. renewable hydrogen. Ingeteam’s technology has been chosen for its ability to meet the stringent requirements of these plants, ensuring an efficient energy supply.
BP Lingen and its green hydrogen project
BP’s Lingen refinery processes approximately 100,000 barrels of crude oil per day, making the implementation of this project a vital step toward reducing carbon emissions. carbon emission reductions, by displacing the use of gray hydrogen with its green equivalent. This refinery was a pioneer in testing renewable hydrogen in 2018 and continues to lead in the sector’s energy transition.
With this contract, Ingeteam strengthens its position in the green hydrogen industry and celebrates having surpassed 500 MW of hydrogen projects supplied or in the manufacturing process. Ingeteam’s director of Green H2 at IngeteamHarkaitz Ibaiondo, highlighted the work of the team and the satisfaction of being a benchmark in the production of renewable hydrogen.
Ingeteam continues to expand its international presence, contributing to projects in Europe, the Americas and Australia, underscoring its leadership in innovation and clean energy. clean energy.
