SferaOne’s floating photovoltaic plant
This project has a capacity of 100 kWp, creating unique opportunities in the country’s energy sector and reinforces SferaOne’s commitment to sustainability and innovation. Among the great energy opportunities, the company is committed to new locations and climate challenges.
“This floating PV plant in Baku is a breakthrough for the region and for our company. It allows us to tap into Azerbaijan’s enormous solar potential in an efficient manner, while continuing to lead the way in sustainable energy solutions.”
Pedro Cuevas, CEO of SferaOne.
The photovoltaic plant, developed under the EPC(Engineering, Procurement and Construction) model, strengthens the development of clean energy in Azerbaijan and has unique environmental benefits. Floating solar installations, such as the one located on Lake Boyuksor, reduce water evaporation and limit algae proliferation. At the same time, they optimize the energy yield of the solar panels due to the cooling effect of the water.
The inauguration was held on July 29 and was attended by senior officials from the Azerbaijan Ministry of Energy and representatives of the Asian Development Bank(ADB), who highlighted the importance of this project for the country’s energy future.
Since its founding in 2006, SferaOne has been at the forefront in the implementation of advanced technologies for renewable energy generation. renewable energySferaOne has established itself as a major player in the transition to a greener future.
