New pulp vessels boost COSCO Shipping’s performance
The COSCO SHIPPING Ji Xiang and COSCO SHIPPING Ru Yi, two sister ships, were recently inducted, while the Green Munguba was christened in a ceremony held on August 22, 2024 at the COSCO Shipping Heavy Industry shipyard in Dalian. With a length of 225 meters and a draft of 14.5 meters, the Green Munguba is preparing for its maiden voyage from China to South America.
These vessels have been designed with the latest energy-saving technology and meet strict TIER III NOx emissions standards, making them industry benchmarks in terms of sustainability. In addition, they are equipped with advanced temperature monitoring systems to ensure safe and efficient operations.
This move underscores the strategy of COSCO Shipping to modernize its fleet with ships that are not only very large, but also more sustainable, in line with the growing environmental demands of the industry.
