The robotics company, ObotX, is looking for new strategic partners to bring its robot “Elon” to the market. Currently, humanoid robots are often expensive and complex, “Elon” is desired to break the paradigms, for its unique kinematics design, patented by ObotX, which allows a high-value performance, very similar to a two-armed humanoid, but at very low cost.

The company has opted for an open open sourceoffering its system, including patents, drawings, instructions and software, free of charge for personal and research purposes. This strategy allows developers and researchers to access ObotX technology without financial barriers, fostering innovation in the field of robotics.
The humanoid robot market has grown rapidly in recent years, with companies such as Tesla, Boston Dynamics and Agility Robotics launching their own products. However, these robots are expensive and their usefulness has yet to be fully demonstrated, with prices that can exceed $100,000. On the other hand, the company has designed “Elon” with fewer actuators and using autonomous mobile robot(AMR) technologies, which reduces the complexity and cost of the robot without sacrificing functionality.
ObotX’s approach is to use cost-effective linear and rotary actuators integrated into an AMR to provide a more affordable solution for a variety of industrial and research applications. The “Elon” design reduces the number of actuators required, and builds on the advanced technology of AMRs, which do not require bipedal agility in multiple uses.
