Agreement signed for Blackcomb pipeline in Texas by WPC JV

Initially, WPC JV, owner of the Whistler pipeline, has entered into a strategic alliance with an affiliate of Targa Resources Corp. to advance the final investment decision regarding the development of the Blackcomb pipeline in Texas. This decision was made after securing firm transportation agreements with several well-known companies, including Devon Energy, Corp., Diamondback Energy, Inc., Marathon Petroleum Corp. and Targa, highlighting its financial strength.

Second, according to statements made by WhiteWater, the Austin, Texas-based infrastructure company, the pipeline will extend 365 miles and have a capacity to transport up to 2.5 billion cubic feet per day of natural gas. This route will connect the Permian Basin in West Texas to the Agua Dulce area in South Texas through various connections to facilities in the Midland and Delaware Basins.

In addition, the construction and operation of the Blackcomb pipeline will be carried out by WhiteWaterThe Blackcomb pipeline is expected to be operational in the second half of 2026, subject to regulatory approvals. The project is a collaboration in which WPC holds a 70%, Targa a 17.5% and MPLX a 12.5% ownership.

Finally, Christer Rundlof, CEO of WhiteWater, has expressed his enthusiasm for this collaboration with Targa, noting that the Blackcomb pipeline will significantly increase the gas transportation capacity needed for the Permian region. In addition, WPC manages a significant pipeline and storage network that facilitates the export of liquefied natural gas from the Permian Basin to South Texas markets.
