SAL Heavy Lift launches its first Orca-class vessel

In a statement, SAL Heavy Lift expressed its gratitude towards the Wuhu shipyard, DNV Class and the design, engineering and management team involved in the project. They stressed that the joint work of these stakeholders has not only produced an impressive vessel, but has been key in achieving this major breakthrough in the sustainability of heavy lift transportation.

Martin Harren, owner and CEO of both SAL Heavy Lift and SAL Heavy Lift and Harren Group, noted that the ships of the Orca class class vessels will distinguish themselves as the most efficient in their class. The fuel consumption and emissions levels of these vessels far exceed those of any other heavy lift vessel in existence, making them a benchmark in today’s maritime industry.
