Wisk and Skyports expand partnership to launch air cabs in Queensland

Wisk and Skyports, leaders in the field of advanced air mobility (AAM), have decided to expand their partnership in order to establish an entry-into-service (EIS) network for the next generation of autonomous aircraft Wisk’s new generation of autonomous aircraft in South East Queensland (SEQ), Australia. This development comes as an extension of their previous collaboration initiated in 2022, marking an achievement in the interaction between the vertiport developer and the manufacturer of eVTOLs manufacturer of autonomous eVTOLs.

Brian Yutko, CEO of Wisk, highlighted the company’s commitment to emission-free and safe aviation in Queensland, noting that the collaboration with Skyports is a crucial step towards realizing its air mobility goals in Australia. On the other hand, Duncan Walker, CEO of Skyports, expressed his enthusiasm for the collaboration that will allow for the efficient launch of air cabs in the region, leveraging the combined expertise of both companies to establish a robust infrastructure network.

Scott Smith, CEO of the Mayors’ Council (SEQ), stressed the importance of advanced air mobility to Queensland’s economic future, expecting this industry to contribute significantly to national GDP and generate high-value jobs in the region. Smith also noted that the introduction of emerging technologies is critical to maintaining SEQ’s global competitiveness.
