The companies Navantia Seanergies and Windar Renovables have been selected once again by Iberdrola to manufacture 21 monopiles for the Windanker offshore wind farm, located in the Baltic Sea.

This project marks the second monopile agreement with Iberdrola and the fourth of its kind for the fourth of its kind for the alliance between Navantia and Windar.. Production will be carried out at the specialized monopile plant at Navantia’s shipyard in Fene, A Coruña.
This order represents an assignment of 420,000 working hours over 10 months, which translates into approximately 210 new jobs, directly involving Navantia, Windar and various auxiliary industries. Each monopile, with a length of 84 meters and a diameter of 10 meters, will weigh 2,100 tons. The Windanker wind farm, which is expected to be operational in 2026, will supply the German electricity market with a capacity of 315 MW, thanks to the incorporation of state-of-the-art 15 MW turbines.
The relationship between Navantia Seanergies-Windar Renovables and Iberdrola has grown stronger over more than nine years, resulting in contracts exceeding 1 billion euros for wind farms in several countries, including the United Kingdom, Germany, France and the United States. This is the fourth major contract for the Fene plant, including €36 million for the modernization and expansion of its production capacities.
Navantia’s president, Ricardo Domínguez, emphasized the importance of this contract, highlighting Iberdrola’s lasting confidence in the alliance and its positive impact on employment and technological development in the Spanish offshore wind sector. For his part, Orlando Alonso, CEO of Windar Renovables, expressed his pride in the renewal of the contract, which validates the quality and reliability of its products and processes, and anticipated an increase in demand and activities in the sector.
