Hann-Ocean Energy announced on July 8, 2024 that its innovative wave power generation project on Shengsi Island, Zhejiang Province, has been successfully completed after two and a half years of extensive offshore testing. This project, which started in January 2022, was primarily aimed at evaluating the performance and stability of the Drakoo 15 kW wave energy converter, as well as testing various coating schemes to select the most durable technologies for the future.
High efficiency in wave energy
During the tests, the power converter not only demonstrated impressive reliability in extreme weather conditions, but also achieved a higher power generation efficiency than that recorded in the wave tank tests.
This success is largely due to the improved accuracy of wave energy development. wave energy achieved through Hann-Ocean Energy‘s independently developed software, as well as the comprehensive upgrade of the energy converter core design.
Hann-Ocean drives wave energy
Looking ahead, Hann-Ocean Energy has designed a plan for the commercial application of this technology. This plan includes product design iteration, extensive marine testing and the development of new application scenarios. In addition, the company plans to collaborate with offshore wind energy offshore wind energy The company also plans to collaborate with offshore wind energy projects, seeking energy synergies that will lead to greater efficiency and sustainability.
Importantly, project leader Han Lei highlighted the company’s commitment to the global promotion of wave energy developed in Shengsi and thanked the local government for its support during testing and the organization of forums. This success has reinforced Hann-Ocean Energy’s confidence in expanding and promoting clean energy technologies worldwide.
