In an official statement, Valeura Energy Inc. has reported the suspension of production from the Wassana field, located offshore the Gulf of Thailand. This decision affects a facility wholly owned by the company.

During a scheduled subsea inspection, a crack was discovered in one of the steel legs of the self-elevating platform of the mobile offshore production unit. mobile offshore production unit (MOPU). Ingenium (MOPU). This anomaly has been considered by the company as a possible risk to the structural integrity of the facility.

Preventive measures with respect to production in the Wassana field

In order to ensure safety and following its rigorous protocols, Valeura Energy has decided to temporarily halt operations in the Wassana field. This preventive measure will allow for additional inspections and analysis to assess the situation comprehensively.
