El futuro de la red 6G

At a recent event in Japan, the country’s telecommunications leaders have unveiled a prototype 6G network device , which proposes going up a notch in connectivity and data transmission speed of up to 100 gigabits per second (Gbps) at a distance of 100 meters.

The future of the 6G network

The development of this device comes from a collaboration between Japanese technology giants such as NTT DOCOMO , NTT Corporation , NEC Corporation and Fujitsu . An innovation that stands out for the impressive speed of information transmission, and capacity for operation between frequency bands of 100 GHz and 300 GHz, seeking to change response times in the way we interact with technology on a global level.

Furthermore, the tests carried out have shown that this future network can maintain its performance, both in indoor and outdoor environments. However, physical factors such as thick walls, strong winds and heavy rainfall can influence connectivity.

Although these advances are important, it is still a very early development, because the 6G network is still considered to be in preliminary stages and is not ready to replace 5G in the short term. All this because there are implications at the highest frequencies, as well as the need to adapt existing infrastructures with new technologies.
