Hitachi Construction Machinery Europe will announce the launch of its latest excavator innovation, the ZX390TC-7, tailored specifically for handling heavy demolition tools, at the upcoming Intermat 2024 show in Paris, France, April 24-27.

This model, with an operating weight of 39.2 tons, incorporates advanced Zaxis-7 technology and complies with Stage V regulations, while offering outstanding features that optimize its performance in secondary demolition tasks.

In addition, the ZX390TC-7 excels in its ability to handle up to five-ton tools such as hydraulic crushing shears, thanks to its enlarged boom and bucket cylinders and reinforced linkage, features that would traditionally require larger excavators. Hitachi notes that this model is equipped with an integral hydraulic system that facilitates the use of various attachments, which can be quickly interchanged from the comfort of the operator’s seat.

About the excavator design

The design of this excavator is inspired by the standard ZX350LC-7 model, but differs in that it has an undercarriage extended by 25 cm for improved stability and an additional 1.4 tons of counterweight.

In addition, Hitachi has implemented safety measures such as side-impact protection and a cab designed for demolition, equipped with P5A safety glass and FOPS level 2 protection, which, together with exceptional 270-degree visibility provided by the Aerial Angle camera system, significantly enhances operator safety.

The ZX390TC-7 also comes backed by Hitachi’s warranty and service programs, focusing on meeting the demands of the industry. Burkhard Janssen, Product Manager, Special Applications and New Technologies, Hitachi Construction Machinery (Europe), noted that the ZX390TC-7 is strategically positioned between the ZX350LC-7 and ZX490LCH-7 models.

Undoubtedly, Hitachi Construction Machinery’s machinery highlights the continuous innovation in the field of construction and demolition machinery and highlights the need for more versatile and safer equipment in the industry. This trend toward specialization and increased safety in heavy machinery design reflects a significant shift in industry priorities, emphasizing operational efficiency and worker protection.
