The role of Artificial Intelligence in waste classification

AI plays a crucial role in the accuracy of waste management. Through deep learning, it classifies debris according to its visual characteristics, reaching an unprecedented level of detail. Urbaser a leading environmental solutions company, has announced its investment in Recycleye’s automated sorting technology, which will be implemented in Algimia, Valencia, in the first half of this year. This technology, which uses computer vision for the detection and automatic classification of waste, represents a significant advance in waste management in Spain.

The system not only sorts the waste, but also collects data on the identified objects, providing real-time analysis on the composition of the waste.
