Compañía firma un memorando de entendimiento para la electrificación del transporte pesado

Hitachi Energy a global technology leader and BluVein a pioneer in dynamic charging technology, have entered into a collaborative agreement to drive the electrification of heavy haulage in the mining sector. This Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) marks a milestone in the move towards more sustainable and efficient mining operations.

Benefits in the electrification of heavy transport

The partnership will leverage Hitachi Energy’s advanced power electronics and digital charging capabilities to optimize BluVein’s e-rail technology. This innovation promises to deliver energy safely and efficiently to haul trucks of up to 400 tons during the transfer of materials, representing a significant advance in mining logistics.

It is anticipated that this joint effort will accelerate the development and implementation of high capacity dynamic loading solutions designed to suit both open pit and subway mines in Australia and globally. The synergy between BluVein’s e-rail technology and Hitachi Energy’s digital and power electronics solutions aims to provide an efficient and robust charging and monitoring system.

Marco Berardi, business director of services, power quality solutions and networks at Hitachi Energy, expressed his enthusiasm for the collaboration, highlighting its potential to facilitate the transition to all-electric mining operations and contribute to the goal of net zero emissions . This collaborative approach aligns with both companies’ commitment to promote sustainable mining practices without sacrificing productivity.

James Oliver, CEO of BluVein, reiterated the company’s commitment to the elimination of fossil fuels in mining and its vision of moving towards a more sustainable and responsible global mining industry. BluVein’s mission to develop a universal dynamic connector is reinforced by this strategic partnership with Hitachi Energy.

In addition, both companies are evaluating external hardware needs for BluVein1, their subway mine electrification solution, underscoring their comprehensive approach to mining technology innovation.

The future of the mining industry

The partnership between Hitachi Energy and BluVein not only accelerates the path to “electric mining,” but also sets a precedent for the adoption of sustainable technologies in the industry. This joint commitment to innovation and sustainability promises to transform mining operations, reducing their environmental impact and leading the way to a responsible, carbon-neutral mining future.
