As part of BECHT´s 60th anniversary, Welding Services Incorporated (WSI) and Ruhrpumpen took advantage of the Becht Coker Workshop in Sugar Land, TX, to present their latest technologies in welding and coke cutting.
WSI ng4 machine
Aaron J Wood, General Foreman of Welding Services Incorporated (WSI) discusses its specialised welding applications for sectors such as oil and gas, pulp and paper, and nuclear. WSI is showing its ng4 machine for structural repair of overlap welds in steam with inl 625 alloy, as well as its BPV Hotwire TIG power source and model 9 forehead for overlap welds inside coke drums. They also feature an automated gouging system for rough gouging inside coke drums.
Ruhrpumpen tool
For his part, Samuel Clemens, Decoking Specialist at Ruhrpumpen talks about their delayed coke cutting tools, including an automatic change tool and the latest drill stem connection technology. The video shows the Drive DSD drill stem, which features crane industry technology for rebuilding in place on the cutting deck, and the cros head, which uses commercial lift industry technology for safe and efficient docking and undocking of the cutting tool.
