At the API Summit in San Antonio, we had the opportunity to delve into the world of Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) with Mark Baldwin from Evident Scientific, INC. Baldwin showcased Evident’s latest advancements in phased array flaw detectors and corrosion mapping scanners, highlighting their commitment to innovation in NDT technology.

Introducing the Hydraform Gen 2: A Revolution in Corrosion Scanning

One of the highlights at the Evident stand was the Hydraform, a compact, high-speed, two-axis corrosion scanner from their new generation of products. Baldwin demonstrated the user-friendly features of the Hydraform, emphasizing its efficiency in performing high-resolution scans and making NDT a seamless, one-man job.

Advanced Imaging Techniques for Accurate Damage Detection

Evident Scientific’s commitment to precision and ease of use is further exemplified in their X364 system with Total Focusing Method (TFM) and Phased Coherent Imaging (PCI). Baldwin explained how these techniques enable clear visualization of damage mechanisms, such as hydrogen-induced cracking, making it easier for technicians to identify issues in the field.
