At the opening of ASNT 2024, the renowned international nondestructive testing (NDT) trade show in Las Vegas, Argus NDT unveiled its latest technological advancement: the Matrix UT System . Designed specifically for the inspection of girth welds on newly constructed pipelines, this system promises to revolutionize the way inspections are performed in the oil and gas industries.

Adrianus , a representative from Argus NDT, shared details of the system during an interview at the event. “The Matrix UT System is designed exclusively for the inspection of girth welds on newly constructed pipelines. It uses advanced technologies such as conventional ultrasound, full phase 3 matrix capture, and phase coherence imaging,” he explained.

The Matrix UT System is manufactured in Actis, Alberta, Canada, and is available to customers worldwide. This system is distinguished by its inspection capabilities in both onshore and offshore projects, making it a versatile solution to the challenges presented by pipelines in a variety of conditions.

Adrianus also highlighted that the system can operate in welding thicknesses from 4 or 5 millimetres without a clear upper limit, allowing for exceptional adaptability in the most demanding projects.

Argus NDT’s presence at ASNT 2024 marks an important milestone for the company. With operations in Canada and the US, Argus continues to push the boundaries of NDT technology with systems like the Matrix UT that combine precision, speed and adaptability to meet industry challenges.

ASNT 2024, held October 21-24 at Caesar’s Forum , features more than 210 exhibitors and is expected to attract more than 2,200 industry attendees . The conference offers participants the opportunity to learn about the latest technologies in nondestructive testing and make key contacts in a highly dynamic environment.

Argus NDT invites all attendees to visit its booth at ASNT 2024 and learn about the Matrix UT System , a tool designed to improve efficiency and accuracy in pipeline inspection operations, both onshore and offshore.
