The president of Yacimientos Petrolíferos Fiscales Bolivianos (YPFB), Armin Dorgathen, announced that Bolivia will have a new certification of hydrocarbon reserves. A quantification of this type has not been carried out for four years, and he also indicated that exploration projects are ongoing and to date operate in three regions.
Armin Dorgathen, president of Yacimientos Petrolíferos Fiscales Bolivianos (YPFB), indicated: “We had reserve certification in 2008, 2013, 2017, 2018 and now this year we are going to have a new reserve certification.” And he added: “We estimate that, depending on the times, by the middle of the year we should have that result,” he said.
Given the observations of experts in the sector about an alleged stoppage of exploration projects in the country, Dorgathen indicated that this process is being faced from YPFB, but also with foreign capital, including three contracts recently signed with a State company Joined.
“Today, YPFB has three rigs on the move, three drilling rigs simultaneously is historic, YPFB has never had three drilling rigs”, Dorgathen explained.
The three operations are located in Mayaya Centro (La Paz), Yope and Yarará X2, explained the manager after announcing that “we are advancing in our exploratory plan.”
