Xiaomi presented this Thursday during an event held in Beijing one of its most advanced technological developments. It is the CyberOne, the first biped humanoid robot designed by the Chinese company, which is capable of recognizing emotions.
According to the company, the CyberOne is 1.77 meters tall, has an arm span of 1.68 meters and weighs 52 kilos. It supports up to 21 degrees of freedom of movement and achieves a real-time response speed of half a millisecond for each degree of freedom, allowing it to simulate human movements with high accuracy.
To ensure upper limb flexibility, Xiaomi developed a high-efficiency motor capable of creating up to 30 Newton-meters of torque, making it capable of holding up to one and a half kilograms with one hand.
The combination of the Mi-Sense depth vision module and an artificial intelligence interaction algorithm enables the CyberOne to perceive space in 3D, as well as to recognize individuals, gestures and expressions, so it can not only see but also process its environment.
Similarly, thanks to the MiAI environment semantic recognition engine and the vocal emotion engine it was equipped with, it can recognize 85 types of environmental sounds and 45 classifications of human emotions. The robot is able to detect happiness or anger, and even comfort the user in times of sadness.
