A tragic accident occurred on Thursday, October 3 at the Beaumont, Texas, clean ammonia project , where one worker was unfortunately killed. The site, owned by Woodside Energy , was under the construction management of OCI, one of its contractors.
There were no injuries, but one worker died.
The fatal accident occurred at 8:30 a.m. local time during normal activities at the site. Company officials confirmed that apart from the deceased, there were no other injuries and that all staff have been accounted for. Meg O’Neill, Woodside’s CEO, expressed her grief over the incident.

Research and measures
Following the tragic event, all operations at the Beaumont site have been suspended pending a thorough investigation. Local authorities and regulators are already involved in understanding the circumstances of the incident.
Woodside Energy has stressed that the safety of its employees has always been its top priority and the company is therefore working closely with OCI and the contractor to provide support to workers and clarify the facts.
Woodside’s senior management will be deployed to the site in Texas to oversee the investigation and support employees who have been affected by this tragedy. O’Neill said that all necessary measures will be taken to improve safety standards and prevent a similar occurrence from happening again.
