Non Destructive Testing (NDT) does not alter the shape or properties of an object and does not cause any damage to it. This type of test is used to study the physical, chemical or mechanical properties of some materials.

Technicians specialized in this discipline ensure the safety of structures, vehicles and vessels, using different techniques to detect corrosion failures, structural damage, metal fatigue and other defects. The main NDT methods are:

VT – Visual Inspection

PT – Penetrating Liquids

MT – Magnetic Particles

EC – Eddy Current Testing or Eddy currents

EA – Acoustic Emission
