Walmart has introduced Chevrolet BrightDrop 400 electric delivery vans to its delivery fleet, bolstering its “ InHome” service in multiple cities across the United States. This service allows partner companies to deliver groceries and products directly to customers’ homes, including the option of entering their homes to leave orders in the refrigerator.

The electric vans are produced at CAMI’s assembly plant and feature innovations that facilitate operations in congested urban and residential areas. During the pilot program conducted in partnership with GM , Walmart drivers highlighted some of BrightDrop’s features, such as its 360-degree HD surround-view camera , which facilitates maneuverability in complex locations, and its blind spot assistance system, improving safety when driving in dense areas and neighborhoods.
BrightDrop’s ergonomic design provides convenience and efficiency, allowing associates to quickly enter and exit the vehicle thanks to the ergonomically accessible step. Additionally, self-closing doors optimize time at each stop, while long-lasting battery technology ensures the vans can cover long distances without requiring frequent recharges.
“These trucks are designed to support hard-working drivers delivering goods and services every day, and help companies like Walmart decarbonize their fleets.”
