Hydrocracker at Mobile refinery increases production
The hydrocracker retrofit project was completed as part of a planned catalyst maintenance, on time and on budget . Throughout this process, Vertex Energy has prioritized safety, meeting the highest OSHA standards, with no accidents recorded throughout the operation.
Mobile’s hydrocracker is currently using vacuum gas oil (VGO) as a feedstock to increase production of high-value refined products. This step represents a key advancement in optimizing the company’s operations while maintaining the ability to produce renewable fuels if market conditions change.
Vertex Energy President and CEO Benjamin P. Cowart praised the team’s operational excellence and reaffirmed their focus on continuing to drive long-term growth.
This is an important achievement that strengthens our ability to adapt to market needs, while keeping our options open for the production of renewable fuels in the future.
