He Ministry of Industry, Energy and Mining of Uruguay announced that it was agreed to maintain the price of fuel during the month of April, with a maximum amount of 71.89 Uruguayan pesos (1.70 euros) for a liter of gasoline and 56.99 for diesel (1.34 euros ).

This will be the final amount of sale to consumers, although there will be some price adjustments in the distribution chain that will be absorbed by the National Administration of Fuels, Alcohol and Portland (Ancap), the Uruguayan public authority in charge of exploiting and administer the monopoly of alcohol and fuel at the national level.

This decision was adopted after the international reference established through the Import Parity Price (PPI) did not register significant variations with respect to the previous month for the main fuels for domestic use.

This is not the first time that the Uruguayan government has taken measures to reduce and control fuel prices. At the beginning of this year, a reduction of 3 Uruguayan pesos (0.07 euros) was chosen for gasoline and 6 pesos (0.15 euros) in the case of diesel.
