La empresa UNEF otorga Sello de Excelencia en Sostenibilidad para la planta fotovoltaica Talayuela II

The Talayuela II photovoltaic plant is located in the province of Cáceres, and has been recognized with the “Seal of Excellence in Sustainability” awarded by the Spanish Photovoltaic Union (UNEF) . This distinction highlights Statkraft ‘s commitment to integrating its solar installation into the natural and social environment, applying the highest standards of sustainability and circular economy.

The Seal of Excellence in Sustainability

Inaugurated in January 2024, the Talayuela II plant has a capacity of 55.2 MWp and supplies clean energy to more than 34,000 homes. With an investment of nearly 34 million euros, the facility is equipped with 84,800 photovoltaic modules, spread over an area of 115 hectares.

During construction, circular economy measures were implemented, achieving a recycling rate of 90% of the waste generated , which has been highlighted by the external audit carried out by CERE ( UL Solutions ). This effort has allowed the Talayuela II plant to reduce the emission of 21,000 tons of CO₂ directly into the atmosphere.

The impact of Talayuela II is not limited to its energy efficiency alone. During the construction phase, 200 jobs were created and priority was given to hiring local people, with 69 Talayuela residents directly involved in the work. In addition, purchases from local companies exceeded 350,000 euros, which has boosted the economy of the area.

Statkraft has integrated an Environmental Integration Plan into this project, which includes initiatives such as planting native species around the facility and creating a specialized habitat of 5,000 m², with the aim of encouraging the reproduction of birds in the region. These measures reinforce the company’s commitment to preserving biodiversity and creating a balanced environment between renewable energy and nature.
