TotalEnergies y Oil India se unen para la deteccion de emisiones de metano

In the framework of COP29, TotalEnergies and Oil India Limited (OIL) have signed an agreement to implement methane emissions detection and measurement campaigns. Using TotalEnergies’ AUSEA drone technology , the companies seek to reinforce their commitments to sustainability and the objectives of the Oil and Gas Decarbonization Charter (OGDC).

About AUSEA Technology

The AUSEA system, developed by TotalEnergies , combines advanced sensors to detect methane and carbon dioxide , identifying their origin with high precision. Installed on drones , this system allows inspections in hard-to-reach areas, both on land and offshore. Its implementation at Oil India sites represents a significant step forward in reducing industrial emissions.

OIL India, which recently joined the OGDC, reaffirms its commitment to achieving net-zero emissions by 2050 and drastically reducing methane emissions by 2030. The collaboration with TotalEnergies reinforces this objective, setting a model for other companies wishing to adopt sustainable practices in the energy sector.

Alliance for the reduction of methane emissions

AUSEA technology is already operating on several continents, positioning itself as an essential tool to achieve global climate goals. Patrick Pouyanné, CEO of TotalEnergies, said:

This collaboration demonstrates the power of global partnerships to promote sustainability and move towards near-zero emissions in the energy sector.

With this initiative, TotalEnergies and OIL strengthen their contributions to a cleaner future, aligning with the commitments set out at the 29th Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change.
